Raising Funds for Community Care of St. Catharines & Thorold

All orders placed from May 9th to May 31st, a donation in the amount of $50 (or 10%) per order will be made to the team at Community Care.

Fast Facts:

  • EVERY client is interviewed, assessed and registered before accessing services
  • 1 can of donated food is one can of food we did not have the day before
  • 6 times per year, or every other month, a client may access 3-5 days worth of food
  • 13 percent of the population of St. Catharines will access our food services
  • 32 community garden plots were tended by 65 adults and 34 children
  • 51 percent of all clients that are served at the ID clinic are children and youth
  • 80  youth, 16-24 years of age, were helped through Housing Help per month. They were either homeless or at imminent risk of being homeless. 68% were female,
  • 206 volunteers are scheduled weekly at CC in St. Catharines & Thorold
  • 389 clients were supported through the Regional Trusteeship Program to stabilize their housing and keep them safe and warm
  • 484 youth participated in sports thru the Canadian Tire Jumpstart program
  • 759 households were assisted through the Utilities program preventing disconnection or reconnecting services
  • 1,100 individuals had ID replaced or obtained through our Identification Clinic
  • 1,300 children received back to school support through Snacks ‘n Sneakers Program
  • 1,850 households access food security each month
  • 2,451 phone calls were received seeking assistance with utilities
  • 4,000 pounds of food is distributed daily, 5 days a week
  • 12,000 individuals registered for Christmas-this is outside food and shelter services
  • 17,000 students are fed each school day through Niagara Nutrition Partners throughout the Niagara Region
  • 19,500 phone calls were received by Housing Help seeking access to shelter needs
  • 1 person can make a difference in the life of someone in need in our community
